Clipping and editing

My clip won't finish or showed an error

Exporting takes a while, and you can close the page in the meantime. If it fails, try again: it costs no credits.

Updated October 11, 2026

In short: exporting a clip takes a while, and you can close the page. If it fails, tap Try again. Trying again costs no credits.

What each status means

When you export a clip, CutPro gets the video ready for you. It doesn't happen instantly.

On the Renders page, each clip shows one of these statuses:

  • Queued: the clip is waiting for its turn.
  • Processing: the video is being prepared. The percentage shows how far along it is.
  • Finished: it's ready. You can download it now.
  • Failed: something went wrong. You can try again.
  • Expired: it was ready, but the file has already been deleted. See below.

It's slow. Is that normal?

Yes, it can be. The time depends on three things:

  • How long the clip is. Longer clips take longer.
  • How much is in the clip, like text and images.
  • How many people are exporting at the same time.

A 4K clip takes much longer than Full HD.

People on bigger plans go first at the busiest times.

Exporting many clips at once moves slower on purpose. That way, someone who exported a single clip doesn't have to wait.

You can close the page. The clip keeps being prepared, and you get a notification when it's ready.

If a clip stays in Processing for more than half an hour, CutPro stops it and marks it as Failed. It never stays stuck forever.

It failed: what to do

Trying again costs no credits. You only pay when you make the clips. Try as many times as you like.

  1. Open the Renders page.
  2. Find the clip marked Failed.
  3. Tap Try again.

Several clips failed? Select them all and try again at once.

Failed again? Check the most common cause

Before you try a third time, see which case looks like yours:

  • It fails right at the start, always on the same clip. The original video is gone or only half arrived. Send the video again, or make the clips again from the original.
  • It fails on a clip from a live stream. The stream recording isn't complete yet. Wait for the stream to end and export after.
  • It fails on a long or heavy clip. The clip got too heavy. Export in Full HD instead of 4K, or make the clip shorter.
  • You see "Nothing to render". The clip ended up empty in the editor. Open the editor and check the start, the end and what's inside the clip.
  • Several clips fail at the same time. CutPro has a lot of videos at that moment. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Many quick errors fix themselves without you ever seeing them. So if you saw the error, the problem is most likely in the clip or the original video.

If the post was set to publish on its own, CutPro also prepares the clip again by itself when the error is a quick one.

If the video came from WhatsApp

A video sent through WhatsApp sometimes arrives with its colors in an odd format. CutPro fixes that on its own when you send the video.

But if a WhatsApp video always fails, get the original video. Don't use the forwarded copy.

The file disappeared before I downloaded it

That isn't an error. The finished file is kept for a while, which depends on your plan. After that, it's deleted and the clip shows as Expired.

  1. Export the clip again. It costs no credits.
  2. Download it as soon as it's ready.

When to contact support

Contact support if all of this is true:

  • The same clip failed three times in a row.
  • You exported in Full HD.
  • The original video opens normally.

Send the clip's link and roughly what time you last tried.
